Size & Condition Guide
On occasion, we will provide estimates of what dress size garments will fit. These dress sizes are based upon the following measurements.
Please note, any estimates we give are estimates only! The best and safest way to work out whether a garment will fit is by reading the flat measurements listed at the top of this page.
Mint (M) - As new, with absolutely no flaws or wear
Excellent (E) - Used, with no noticeable flaws
Very Good (VG) - Used, with minor flaws, no repairs needed
Good (G) - Visible wear. Minor flaws and/or optional repairs needed
Fair (F) - Numerous flaws, repairs needed, fragile
Poor (P) - Extensive damage. For display or study only.

All measurements are taken flat.
Shoulder-to-shoulder measurements are taken across the shoulders of the garment, from seam to seam, across the reverse side of the garment.
Bust or chest measurements are taken from armpit to armpit, then multiplied by two.
Waist measurements are taken at the waistband of a garment (skirts, trousers), or in the case of dresses, where the waist is designed to sit in the garment. This number is then multiplied by two.
Hip measurements are taken from seam to seam at the hipline. This measurement is then multiplied by two.
Sleeve measurements are taken from the top shoulder seam to the cuff.
Inseam measurements on trousers are taken are taken from the crotch to the bottom of the trouser leg.
Length measurements for shirts, jackets, etc are taken from the top of the garment, at the centre, to the hemline. For trousers and skirts, they are taken from the waistband to the hem.
Flat measurements are intended as a guide only. They should be compared against a well-fitting garment you already own – not your body measurements! If you prefer to work from body measurements, be sure to leave an inch or two wiggle room.
Please note, some garments are stretchy and thus flat measurements may appear smaller than your body measurements (this will always be stated in the garment description).
